Do you offer scheduled safety training courses in Winnipeg? Yes. Province Wide Safety Training Ltd. offers scheduled instructor-led safety training courses in Winnipeg for employers, companies, and First Aid participants who may not have enough participants for a private onsite course. Where are scheduled training courses held? Scheduled classroom training is typically held at Canad Inns Polo Park, 1405 St. Matthews Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Course location details will be confirmed at the time of registration. Do participants complete the practical evaluation at the hotel or at their workplace? For equipment operator training, the classroom portion may be completed at the scheduled training location, but the practical evaluation is completed at the participant’s workplace using the equipment they will be expected to operate. Can individuals register, or do you only train companies? Individuals may register directly for scheduled First Aid training. For Forklift Operator Training and other workplace-specific safety training courses, registration should be coordinated by the participant’s employer. Under Manitoba workplace safety and health requirements, employers have a duty to ensure workers are properly trained, supervised, and competent to perform their work safely, based on the equipment being used, the hazards present, and the procedures at that workplace. Because workplace safety training and operator competency are tied to the worker’s actual job duties, equipment, and worksite conditions, this type of training is not automatically transferable from one employer or workplace to another. Employers are responsible for confirming that training is suitable for their workplace and that the worker is competent before assigning the work. Province Wide Safety Training Ltd. provides scheduled training options to assist employers who may not have enough participants for a private onsite course. Manitoba’s Workplace Safety and Health Act requires employers to ensure workers are supervised by someone competent through knowledge, training, or experience, and familiar with the Act and regulations that apply to the work being performed.
