COMMON QUESTIONS

Is overhead crane training required in Manitoba?

  • Yes. Part 23 of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Regulation requires that cranes and hoists be operated only by workers who are trained and competent to operate them safely.

How long is the certification valid?

  • Three years. Retraining sooner is a good idea after an incident or near miss, or when the equipment or work conditions change.

Where does the training take place?

  • At your workplace, on the overhead cranes your operators actually use. We travel to Winnipeg, Brandon, Steinbach, Thompson, Kenora and surrounding areas, and across Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario and Eastern Saskatchewan.
