COMMON QUESTIONS

Is skid steer training required in Manitoba?

  • Yes. Part 22 of the Manitoba Workplace Safety and Health Regulation requires employers to make sure powered mobile equipment is operated only by workers who have been trained and have shown they are competent.

How long is the certification valid?

  • Three years. Retraining sooner is a good idea after an incident or near miss, or when the equipment or work conditions change.

Where does the training take place?

  • At your workplace, on the skid steers your operators actually use. We travel to Winnipeg, Brandon, Steinbach, Thompson, Kenora and surrounding areas, and across Manitoba, Northwestern Ontario and Eastern Saskatchewan.
